Before low carb/no carb dieting took over, fruit was an obvious choice for health/weight conscious eaters. Not only is it refreshing and tasty, but also (usually) pleasing to the eye. Its colors, forms, dimensions, and symbolism have preoccupied still-life painters for generations. My paintings involving fruit are not still-lives in the traditional sense. I focus less on composition and juxtaposition than on the magnification and exaggeration of shapes and colors. Dimensions don't seem to matter, rather being in touch with what I'm painting and feeling.
(Please Note: The yellow copyright signature on the paintings is superimposed and doesn't exist on the originals. Also, the original artwork's colors are a little different from in the gallery scans: vibrancy, crispness, or tone might have been lost. Images are displayed in the order they were created.)
